This modern holiday home is located in the village of Ballinskelligs (Baile na Sceilge) in the west of Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. It is in walking distance to the beautiful sandy beach, as well as to pubs, shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Ballinskelligs offers fine coastal scenery and a small harbour for fishing boats and for touring boats to the Skellig Islands. The area is also rich in history with many traces of the past, including an old monastery, a castle, stone alignments and ringforts.
The interior of the house offers a comfortable amount of space The open plan kitchen/living/dining area is perfect for relaxing, eating, sitting around and just being there. The open fire place provides a homely atmosphere in the evenings.
There are three ensuite bedrooms, two downstairs, one upstairs, accommodating up to 6 people comfortably.
The patio has outdoor furniture for breakfast or evening meals on the warmer days.
Ballinskelligs is a good touring base for the west of the Iveragh peninsula. The scenic Skellig Ring is passing the house, nearby scenic attractions include the Kerry Cliffs and Valentia Island. The owners of the house will help you arranging the trip to the Skellig Islands, which should not be missed while staying here. The villages of Caherciveen and Waterville are each about 15 mins. away, with shops and restaurants.
The sandy beach is in short walking distance and supervised in the season. It offers all kinds of water activities. Waterville has a golf course, while walkers and cyclists can enjoy a number of walking and cycling trails from the house.
